AI-HEART Lab Clinical Tools

Shared Decision-Making Tools

Generate personalized, printable patient handouts for therapy discussions. Each tool uses evidence-based icon array visualization to communicate absolute risk reduction in natural frequency format, helping patients understand the benefits and trade-offs of treatment options.

How to Use

Evidence Basis

All shared decision-making tools use natural frequency format ("X out of 100 people") following the International Patient Decision Aid Standards (IPDAS). Icon arrays are the most evidence-supported visual format for communicating risk across numeracy levels (Galesic & Garcia-Retamero, Risk Analysis 2009). Patient-facing text is written at a 5th-6th grade reading level per AMA and Joint Commission recommendations.
